Addiction Treatment for the Substances We Treat in Orange County

Personalized, Evidence-Based Care for Every Kind of Substance Use

Every substance affects the body and mind differently, and every person’s path into addiction is different too. That’s why effective treatment has to be tailored to both. Whether you’re struggling with alcohol, opioids, stimulants, or prescription medications, recovery is possible with the right support.

At California Care Recovery, we provide medically supervised detox and residential addiction treatment in South Orange County. Each treatment plan combines evidence-based therapy, psychiatric care, and holistic support to address the substance, the person, and the reasons behind the addiction.

Signs It May Be Time to Get Help for Substance Use

Substance use can change gradually, and it’s not always easy to see when occasional use has turned into something more. According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, addiction is a treatable condition, and treatment that fits the individual gives people the best chance at recovery.

Common signs it may be time to reach out:

  • Needing more of a substance to feel the same effects
  • Feeling sick, anxious, or on edge when you try to cut back or stop
  • Spending more time or money using than you intended
  • Struggling to keep up with work, school, or family responsibilities
  • Trying to quit on your own without success
  • Continuing to use even when it’s hurting your health or relationships
  • Using to cope with stress, pain, or difficult emotions

If you or someone you love is in crisis, or you suspect an overdose, call 911 right away.

Dual Diagnosis

When Addiction and Mental Health Go Hand in Hand

Substance use often goes hand in hand with depression, anxiety, trauma, or another mental health condition. Some people start using to cope with difficult feelings, while for others, substance use makes mental health symptoms worse. When both are present, it's called a dual diagnosis, or co-occurring disorders.

Treating one without the other often leaves the door open to relapse. Our dual diagnosis program treats both at the same time, with one coordinated plan that addresses the connection between them.

Questions

Addiction Treatment FAQs

What substances does California Care Recovery treat?

We treat a wide range of substance use disorders, including alcohol, heroin, fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, Xanax and other benzodiazepines, and prescription drugs such as opioid painkillers, stimulants, and sedatives.

Do I need to go through detox before treatment?

Many people do. Substances like alcohol, opioids, and benzodiazepines can cause difficult or dangerous withdrawal, so medically supervised detox is often the safest first step. Our team will recommend the right starting point after your assessment.

Is it dangerous to stop using alcohol or benzos on my own?

It can be. Stopping alcohol or benzodiazepines suddenly can cause serious withdrawal symptoms, including seizures, which can be life-threatening. Always talk to a medical professional before stopping, and consider medically supervised detox.

Do you offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT)?

Yes. We offer medication-assisted treatment for opioid dependence when it's clinically appropriate. MAT can ease withdrawal and cravings while you focus on therapy and recovery.

What if I'm using more than one substance?

Using more than one substance is common, and it's nothing to be ashamed of. Your treatment plan will address every substance you're using, along with any withdrawal risks that come with them.

Can you treat addiction and mental health conditions together?

Yes. Many people struggle with both, and treating them together is the evidence-based standard for lasting recovery. Our dual diagnosis program addresses substance use and mental health in one coordinated plan.

Does insurance cover addiction treatment?

California Care Recovery accepts most major PPO insurance plans. Our admissions team can verify your benefits at no cost to you and explain your coverage before treatment begins.
