Admissions Process
Every individual interested in California Care Recovery begins with a confidential pre-screening and full assessment. This includes an admissions interview, a physical examination, and collaborative treatment planning with our clinical and medical team. Our goal is not only to determine whether our services are the right fit—but also to begin creating a personalized treatment plan tailored to your unique needs and goals.
During the admissions process, you can expect to discuss the following topics with our team:
- Personal and family history of mental health or substance use disorders
- Current mental and emotional health status
- Previous treatment or therapy experiences
- Personal motivations and short- and long-term goals
- Preferred forms of therapy or treatment
- Aftercare planning and recovery objectives
- Any necessary accommodations or special considerations
This comprehensive approach ensures that we gain a full understanding of who you are—not just your symptoms, but your strengths, preferences, and the challenges you’ve faced along the way. Our team takes the time to listen closely and collaborate with you in designing a plan that aligns with your recovery goals. We believe that when individuals feel seen, heard, and supported from the very beginning, they are more likely to engage deeply in the healing process.
Once the admissions assessment is complete, our staff will provide you with a clear next step, whether that means proceeding with your enrollment or helping you find a program that better suits your current needs. From your first call to the day you arrive, we’re committed to making the admissions experience as smooth, respectful, and empowering as possible. At California Care Recovery, your recovery starts with understanding—and we’re here to walk beside you from day one.
Admissions Criteria & Exclusions
To be eligible for admission, individuals must be able to live in a therapeutic community environment and actively participate in treatment with both staff and fellow patients. If someone does not meet our criteria, we are happy to help guide them toward more appropriate care options.
At this time, we are unable to admit individuals who:
- Are experiencing active suicidal ideation
- Require psychiatric hospitalization
- Are unwilling or unable to participate in their treatment plan
Our admissions process is designed to ensure the safety and success of every individual who enters our program. We believe that recovery is most effective when clients are in a stable enough state to engage in the therapeutic process and benefit from the structure of a supportive community. Prior to admission, each person undergoes a clinical assessment to determine whether our services are the right fit for their current needs. This includes an evaluation of medical stability, psychiatric history, and motivation for recovery. If someone needs more intensive psychiatric care or a higher level of stabilization before engaging in residential treatment, our team will help connect them with trusted providers and crisis resources.
At California Care Recovery, our goal is not only to provide exceptional care but also to ensure that each individual is set up for success from the very beginning. We understand that timing and readiness play a significant role in the recovery journey, which is why we approach every case with compassion, professionalism, and honesty. If a potential client is not currently eligible, we welcome them to reach back out when their situation changes. In the meantime, we offer guidance, referrals, and encouragement to help them take the next right step toward healing.
If you have questions about whether you or a loved one meets our admissions criteria, please don’t hesitate to contact California Care Recovery. We’re here to help you find the support you need—whether it’s with us or through another trusted provider.
