Sean Leonard, NP - Psychiatric Nurse

Sean Leonard is a dedicated and skilled nurse practitioner of psychiatric medicine. After his start as an RN in the emergency department, he went on to earn AGPCNP-BC, WOCN, and CWS certification before becoming an NP. Sean has a passion for managing care for patients, including those suffering from addiction and experiencing co-occurring mental disorders. Also called dual diagnosis (DD), conditions such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder can complicate the process of recovery and create a cycle of adverse outcomes.

Sean recognizes that only when both issues — substance use and psychiatric conditions — are treated at the same time can patients find relief from their symptoms. He works with patients to provide the best available psychiatric care and medication management. His patients are grateful to find a safe way to manage the symptoms they have suffered from for so long. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Sean has excellent skills in assessment, evaluation, and treatment. He is a critical thinker who finds and addresses the root of the problem to help patients feel better and achieve their goals.

Substance use disorder can make life challenging for individuals and their families. To treat it effectively, a multidisciplinary approach is needed. If you or a loved one are struggling with addiction, do not wait another day. Call California Care Detox & Treatment at (949) 281-0632 to learn more about our programs and services.
